Peder Reiff is a distinguished Chicago tenor celebrated for his dynamic and energetic performances across concert and operatic genres. He has performed with numerous esteemed ensembles, including the Grant Park Chorus, Chicago Symphony, Fort Wayne Symphony, Chautauqua Symphony, Music Institute of Chicago, and the Apollo Chorus. Recent highlights of his concert career include tenor solos in Messiah with the Illiana Oratorio Society, Petite Messe Solennelle with the Apollo Chorus and Elmhurst Symphony, as well as Elgar’s Light of Life, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
In the opera world, Peder has performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago chorus and in leading roles with companies including Chautauqua Opera, Opera Illinois, Chamber Opera Chicago, and the Seagle Music Colony. His notable roles include Nemorino in The Elixir of Love, Ferrando in Così fan tutte, and Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus.
A graduate of Indiana University, Peder studied under renowned bass-baritone Giorgio Tozzi, setting a school record by performing in seven operas in a single season. In addition to his performing career, Peder is a dedicated voice teacher, helping students of all ages and styles in the Chicagoland area. Originally from Superior, WI, he now resides in Westchester, IL, with his wife and three children.
